Hello, I'm 16 years old and have been having periods since I was about eleven. I'm sexually active with my boyfriend of one and a half yrs., but each time we have used condoms and been especially careful about protection. I usually get my periods toward the end of the month and last month I did not get my period, but I am getting my usual symptoms. I usually get tender breasts, acne, and increased vaginal discharge, and I have recently gotten these symptoms, but no period yet. Could it just be that my period is coming a bit later than usual?

I appreciate all of your help, I'm not sure how I could be pregnant because there was no opportunity for sperm to enter the vagina, the condoms never broke or leaked or anything like that so how would sperm be able to enter still? My late period isn't all that late, i usually get it anywhere from the 26-31, and it's only the 2nd of July now.

Yes, that is is very possible. dont stress over it till you are least two weeks late. Your best bet is to use birthcontrol go to planned parenthood it is usually cheaper and confidential. This will prevent pregnancy, regulate ur period and dimish many negative symptoms of ur period. Or you can get the depovera shot look into these things if you are having sex. And consider going to a gyno. especially now that you are sexually active. Again planned parent hood if you are not comfortable talking to your parents these reasources are here for you and many others please take advantage of them for you own well being.

It's possible, it depends on how many days it's late. If more than a week you might want to go and get a pregnancy test. But if it just a day or two it could just be a shift in cycle. Most months have 4 weeks, so it makes it easier to predict when your period will come but sometimes you get those 5 week months and that can throw you off by a week. I know that happens to me when we have 5 week months or the seasons change. So it may be nothing to worry about, only way to be certain is to take a pregnancy test. Also even if you are always careful with protection it's not 100% effective, the only 100% effective method is abstinence. You should also look into getting some birth control. If you feel responsible enough to have sex be responsible about it. Good job for always using protection though. All the best.

Your symptoms are also that of someone who is in early pregnancy. Take a home pregnancy test. If pos- tell your mom. You will need her support. Your life is not over.

Well, since you have had your period so long, it should be regular by now. So, you might be pregnant. Try a HPT (home pregnancy test)

Probably. Every woman has a few weird periods in her lifetime. (Remember, no birth control is 100% safe)
