You could take them to any science center, museum or even sell it on ebay and make a lot of money off of those. I would probably go with the first two though because they will actually appreciate it for what it is.

A fossil's value is going to be based on what type of organism it used to be, it's size and how good of quality the specimen is. You might visit a local rock shop or eBay and see if you can find similar fossils to get an idea of what you have.

Take them to ETSU, which is just down the road. I am sure their Earth Science department would love to see them to see if they could be useful in their labs and collections. If they take them you can probably get a tax write off or they might pay you directly depending on budget stuff.

If you go a little further down the road to Knoxville, the Earth Science department at UT (GOVOLSGO!!) is super (talk to Dr. Colin Sumrall) and also you might want to take them to the McClung Museum there on campus. They do a lot of natural history and paleo displays.

Check for a local Rock Hound Club, they should be able to evaluate your rocks and suggest a proper method of disposition. You might consider donating them to a local museum, college, or high school.

listen, we all have problems with our parents as they grow older, but i don't think the resale value on them is much. you might try a senior assisted living center or.......oh, you mean fossil-fossils?
