Yes, to both. Corys will generally school with any other corys of a similar size. Many , many sopecies of corys can cross breed as well. I would caution against doing this on purpose though. It can lead to too many crosses available and too few of the pure strain fish still available. It certainly has happened to swordtails and many species of african cichlids.

Most all Corrys will swim around together and be happy. They don't really care what the other fish look like, they would probably be just as happy in a school of all Loaches... (don't do that though, you 10 gallon is way too small!)
