If you're talking about The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, then yes I'm 99% sure you need an agent to get an audition with them. When they need actors, they post the notice in the Breakdown Services. Those notices go out to Agents who check their client list to see who fits what. Then they send the headshots over to the casting directors to say this is who I have for that and of the casting directors think those actors may be right for the rolse too then they set up an audition. Without an agent, you are not part of that process.

And, though I basically agree with 'just me' she could have stated it better. Disney is not likely looking for sexy headshots especially from a young girl. Your headshots should look like a nice young girl, not sexy.

Good luck

Being that there's already been a ton of misinformation on this topic already I feel the need to speak up. 9 times out of 10 you will need an agent, they take care of your contract, they represent you to studio professionals and do their best to make you look good. It is possible to get a job without an agent but for television or modeling not usually unless you have a special feature or talent that they're looking for. For any type of television series you will need an agent.

Agents are only allowed to take 10% of what you make, no more, no less. They must follow union proceedures and guidelines. That person who posted above about their agents taking 20% and more don't have agents, they have managers which is different. Managers can take whatever percentage they want which is how a lot of people get screwed.

Your headshots should look like you on a good day. You shouldn't be wearing anything you don't normally wear, you should not be wearing a ton of make up. These pictures should look like the best version of yourself, that means not glamour shots in a fancy dress with a ton of eye make up. Disney isn't looking for young girls with sexy headshots, they want clean, wholesome kids because that is the image they wish to present.

Please remember that anyone who claims to be an agent and charges you a fee is a scam. It seems like an easy quick way to get started but it's not. The only way to get the real agents to see you is to get a copy of the Ross Reports and start mailing in.

No. but it always helps. Although, not having an agent can work too, if your good enough.

For example, my cousin did a hair show (modeling). She didn't have an agent, but most of the other girls did. The other girls all got jealous, because Jordan (cousin) got to keep all $120 of her profit, the other girls only got 20%, and their agents got 80%.

There are positives and negatives to both.

With an agent, you will have more opportunities to be seen, because that agent is working to get you the auditions.

So it depends if your in it for the money, or if you want the stage time.

An agent is your link to getting the audition. The casting person will not even make you an appointment without that link.

And by the way, sexy headshots for Disney auditions? Seriously? Try wholesome, family oreinted, sweet, charming. It's Disney, hello.

Yes.

This is how the "big shots" weed out amateurs. They think if you are not experienced or talented enough to have an agent, you have no business auditioning for their shows.

EDITED TO ADD:

I am assuming you are talking about shows produced by Disney.

Typically there will be a list of actors names and the name of their agent, as well as, the actor's union affiliation (SAG or AFTRA). You may have to sign your name and the name of your agent, so they can keep track of who attended the audition and the name of agent.

If you are going to be in the acting biz near your house (like community theatres) you really don't need an agent. But if you are doing like TV or movies you need an agent

Probably. And you have to live in L.A. It's tough making it out tehre. Myself, I'm content with local theatre. In a city, of course.
