I do not understand. So many questions and answers here deal with the issue of whether or not homosexuality or bisexuality is wrong or right, whether it is a sin or not, whether or not it is a choice or we are born with it. Fact: whatever the answer to any of these questions, it does not effect you, does it? If it is gnawing at your gut and cluttering your thought so much, maybe you are afraid that you are gay youreslf and trying to fight it. Sorry, but it's the only explanation that makes sense to me. Give me yours...

It is not a perversion. Anything that happens between consenting adults that does not involve violence or consensual abuse is not a perversion.

No, i'm just sick of demonizing dissenting opinion. Maybe i'm simply being honest with myself by disagreeing with all the gay rhetoric.

I am a supporter of gay marriage and gay rights, as a heterosexual man.

The problem here is that the Christian Church has made a concerted effort to shun homosexuality. In Seminary school, I learned that the letters of Paul were either doctored to include negative comments on women and homosexuals or entire letters were written and attributed to Paul including these types of comments.

Men started looking at each other as possible homosexuals and it became socially dangerous to associate with a homosexual. Since women were owned by men, their sexuality was not as important.

There are many social habits that we practice today that do not make sense in current society, but they come from history. The mistreatment of anyone homosexual is one of those habits.

Since most people are not aware of why they feel the way that they do, they continue the hurtful behavior. Most people are afraid of how they will be judged by society, so they take the safe route and judge others as they think society judges them. Also, some people believe that by accepting homosexuality they will be judged by others either as a lover of homosexuals or as homosexual themselves.

Your question would then be, why do they care at all? The answer is the fear of being hated by their "friends" for accepting a group of people who are rejected by the Church. Religion started this evil and is the continued source of this evil.

By the way, I am a member of a Christian Church. I believe that the Church is just as wrong on this issue as it was on the shape of the Earth. It took generations for the Church to accept a globe rather than a flat surface. Hopefully, accepting homosexuality as a fact rather than a choice will take less time.

Take care,
Troy

P.S. Thank you for asking this question. The naivette is unbelievable. One man even suggested that he could never get AIDS because he is not gay. How stupid is that assumption?

Some people still believe that homosexuals and sexual predators are one and the same. Another sad assumption. This one was created by really bad Christian police.

Homosexuality has no effect on me. I think everyone is entitled to be what they want to be and be with whom they want to be with. Who cares if it comes naturally or geneticall or whatever else. You should be able to explore your sexual preferences on your own and without judgement. I think a lot of people judge just because they fear that they may find themselves agreeing with something that they were raised to be against, instead of taking a stand opening up there minds.

How will it affect you if there is gay people, unless you are homosexual. Why do you care for them anyways? Showing the people of our society that we can give the right to same sex marriage, only shows how much more humans disgust me.

We are freaking animals in my opinion, and gay people can screw off and keep quiet about giving bum-uglies to another man or women...

I just don't like the fact that people think sex everytime the word gay comes up.

No, it does affect me in many ways. Years ago I could get a nice trim from the barber and they would finish the job with a straight razor to give me a nice clean look. Because of the spread of AIDS, this is no longer done.

When I got tired while driving at night I could pull over and get a quick nap at a roadside rest area. I can't anymore because these places were used by gay men to "hook up" they were shut down.

AIDS is the most preventable disease a person can catch. Yet instead of identifying and quarantining those with this virus, I am forced to spend my hard earned tax dollars to fund research to find a cure for something I'll never get. And yes, AIDS is a gay disease, as 2/3rds of all cases are from gay sex.

This is just a start.....

It effects me in absolutely no way.
There is no gay agenda. It is not contagious.

Gay people just want and deserve the same rights as everybody else. People who get their panties all in a bunch over homosexuality are bigoted.

People fear what they don't know. Having grown up(but no longer attend) in an extreme Baptist atmosphere, I have heard every single debate imaginable. But as an adult, I have finally decided that people are people and valueable to society regardless of their sexuality.

Replace "homosexual" with pedophile, nercophile, zoophile, or any other sexual perversion and you guys will say "BUT THAT'S DIFFERENT!". No it's not. A sexual perversion is a sexual perversion.

It's not natural, it's about as "natural" as the others listed above. Supposed "homosexual" animals are always zoo animals in captivity. It's like prison.

You're not "born gay" there's all kinds of proof against it. For one thing there is no "gay gene", for another these things have been proven to change several times after turning 18, a time when TASTES change, not physiological charachteristics.

Yes it does affect me, because they don't want to just be left alone behind closed doors. They announce it like a four year old kid who announces to everyone that he just farted. They forcibily subject you to their "lifestyle". I think it's wrong, but if they did it behind closed doors we wouldn't have to know about it, and I don't want to know about it. They don't need to be so in-your-face about it.

LOL Cassandra, your target audience to this question is usually not in a position to coherently and peacefully put forth their viewpoint.

I agree totally. People are scared. Who cares who's gay or who's not. I don't care.
