If I had to choose, I'd pick Waterworld, because flooding is much more survivable than freezing. Besides, I like the whole "Mad Max on water" thing. :-)
Of course they'd both be very bad, unless you're a fundamentalist enviro who views humanity as a cancer upon the Earth that needs to be eradicated. And yes, I have met quite a few enviros who think that way.
Fortunately, both movies are complete fiction. There is not enough water frozen as ice to flood the entire planet--at most the oceans might come a few dozen miles inland. Which would be bad, but not the waterworld portrayed in the movie. As for Day After Tomorrow, that was complete and total fantasy with NO basis in actual science. The weather simply does not and can not behave in the manner shown in that film. Laws of physics and all that. Of course, that film was made by (and for) people for whom environmentalism is not a science, but a religion.

Waterworld could not happen. There's not enough water. The day after has a basis in science. So I'd prefer it, because our species has surived ice ages before. It would be one hell of a wake up call if man got the message.

Waterworld, because (according to the movie) evolution would happen and I'll grow gills so I'll be able to live on land and in water. That's a double whammy if ya ask me=)
