She called me this morning at 06:45 and wanted to make sure I'd take her to the doctor. I never heard the phone so she cancelled the appointment.. They don't have a car so she calls me daily, wanting me to take her somewhere..I am getting tired of being her taxi cab, and she only gives me $5.00 occasionally for gas.. Am I being an a-- or do I have a point?

I had this EXACT same problem with someone who had been my best friend for years. But because she started doing that same stuff, I eventually had to "break up" with her. I'd never done that with a friend before. She couldn't drive, and ways always making me feel guilty about not taking her places. At first, I did feel guilty. I felt like I should try to do more to help her. But eventually, I wised up. I realized that she was using me. Like you, I hardly ever saw any money. Also, she one time stayed at my house for almost a month (after her husband left her, so I felt really bad and wanted to help her). Well, she messed up the house, ate all my food and practically DEMANDED that I take her places. That's when I realized I was a doormat.

I can relate to this, I have a friend that does the same thing and heres the crazy part, she doesnt even give me a dime. she would only call me when she needed something and she had no car and this was while I wasnt working. now Im working and I cant take her nowhere so I dont ever hear from her anymore. I just straight out told her that dont ever call me when she needs anything cause I dont like to be used. sometimes you got to be straight forward for people to get it. your being a good friend and shes taking advantage of you...I understand if you guys were close friends and she does alot of favors for you too, but if your not getting anything back than I would just be forward with her.

No, I never feel like that. If someone was using me, they wouldn't be my best friend anymore. Tell them to pay for gas, or stop driving them around. Gas is too expensive. And if this person makes a fuss or doesn't come through, then they aren't your best friend. Time to find some new ones.

i've deffinately felt like that before!!!! omg, yeah! ur not being an a*s! u have a point!
my friend would make me pick things up for her just cuz she didnt feel like going anywhere that day. then cuz her parents didnt like her bf n were strict she'd make me pick her up n say we were going to the movies n drop her at her bfs house then i'd have to leave. gosh, it was so annoying!!
i think u should just tell ur friend how u feel about it.
btw, i dont think shes a true friend cuz true friends dont use friends unfairly like that. me n that other mean friend stopped being friends cuz she got pissed when i talked to her about it.
on the other hand, she may be unaware of the fact that shes being really selfish, so maybe when u talk to her about it, if shes an understanding person she'll try to change....

you can either
A....make up an excuse that you cant drive her for some reason
B.....tell her she should save her $ to get a car, to pay for an actuall taxi or to pay u $ cause u rnt rich
C....tell her how you feel and that its 2 hard for
your budget to drag her around
i would pick c if i were u

You are being used. Sometimes I feel like my friends are not real. You should talk to her about it tell her why your annoyed. Maybe she can work things out or catch a ride with another friend. You should try.

well,you have a point..i'd feel the same way....But yes sometimes i do feel like my friend trisha uses me..she made my mom drive her to like5 places because she could'nt get a ride & my mom wanted her to come to the new york state fair with us...& then she said that she didnt need my moms ride...i was mad..then she always takes my food at lunch without asking me in school...& then she acts like she isnt my friend..to go hang out with this total biatch..so yeh!:)

shes using u. ur using your own money for thigns she needs on a regular basis and $5 for gas hardly gets u anywhere
