Everyone thinks these fireworks are safe for kids and they are about the most dangerous. They burn about 1600 degrees or something like that. I have a scar from one from a restruarant where we put a sprinkler in ice cream for birthdays. Those suckers break off and don't quit burning until it is all burned up.
Parents don't let your kids play with these.

They're dangerous for adults too. My kids are afraid to touch them, I am happy about that. I line mine up in the yard and light them like that. My kids are happy just to sit back and watch.

They are roughly the same temperature as the heat of a thousand suns. Just because our parents let US play with them when we were kids doesn't mean they aren't darn dangerous. My kids get those things that you throw at the ground to make them pop and that's about it. My kids are 15 and 11, by the way. Still, they won't be touching any sparklers.

YES! I did know that- they are actually more dangerous for kids than a lot of fireworks that shoot off the ground. I have heard so many horror stories of kids losing an eye from getting it poked by a sparkler.

If the child is supervised and taught how to play with them they are fine. I played with them from the time I was 2 and never got burned. It is ignorance that makes fireworks dangerous and lack of supervision. Sorry you god burned but it was due to lack of proper use of the sparkler and not that sparklers are rouge dangers. I am buying 12 packs for my kids this 4th! Happy Independence Day!

I did as a kid with adult supervision and I always tossed to to the patio to let it finish burning out.
