Out of the choices, I would say Crimson Tide is my favorite.
Another great submarine movie is K-19: The Widowmaker. This is all my opinion, of course.

I haven't seen Crimson Tide, but I've seen Hunt for Red October, Das Boot and U571. Of those, I'd go with Das Boot. Regarding Hunt for Red October, the book was sooooooooooo much better than the movie, even if the movie is the best sub movie it was such a disappointment after the book.
For an exceptional submarine book, read "The Terrible Hours", the story of the USS Squalus.

The Hunt for Red October-but not any where as good as the book. It is beyond doubt the best Clancy book ever. I think it would be better to read the book first.
An oldier but a goodie, Run Silent Run Deep.
The mentioned are great also. Sometimes it is so hard to pick the best of anything.

Das Boot (in German, no dubbing)
Run Silent Run Deep is also a good, albeit older, sub movie.
