I went to go see it and even though I think Michael Moore may have glossed over a few things, took some liberties, etc. the overwhelming message is that the US health system is insane! How can it be that the US is the only western indistrialized country NOT to have universal health care? How can it be that doctors working for health insurance companies make MORE money and move up the career ladder the MORE claims they deny? How can it be that a system has been set up that doesn't take care of the sick, poor and elderly but rather is set up to maximize profits for insurance companies? I was already mad about all of this, but the movie crystallized my conviction and gave concrete examples. Seems like many other countries are doing a better job of taking care of people and yet we are the country that prides itself on being a "Christian" nation. Seems to me that these other countries are truly living "what would Jesus do" in the health care area...

I do.
Because US is the home of the crooks.
Because Doctors here in US, don't care about us little people.
Because the CEOs want to be the world richest people.
Maybe the Government doesn't know anything about
this.... cause Health Insurance companies want to see
that they don't get bankrupt.
And even though if Health Insurance companies shut down
and lay off workers...
These workers can become health care takers, doctors,
nurses, and work in new expanding hospitals....

That's the way I think about most Michael Moore films. His techniques are a little suspicious at times (the whole Cuba stunt seems contrived and doesn't really contribute much to the film), but the point underneath all of his shenanigans is usually pretty solid.

For example, Moore was booed at the Oscars for his dramatic anti-war speech. Two years later, I doubt he'd be booed if he repeated his performance.

Certainly, the health care situation in the US is worth criticizing. People shouldn't have to skip preventive exams and treatments, avoid the dentist for years, or worry about calling an ambulance in an emergency because these things are too costly. The current system is broken.

Moore might not be the most objective spokesperson for this issue, but he's the loudest one, and is valuable simply because he can make himself heard.

Remember that part in the movie where Bush is sitting with a woman who works 3 jobs? Our priorities are all screwed up. We are sheep following a corrupt leader who could care less about his sheep. They just say "trust in the lord" and send them on their way. "Oh, no, we can't give you a break, that would be cheatin'...you have to make it on your own like I did...no, wait, I got my money for free!" While France, Italy, Japan might not be chasing after "the lord" like the U.S., THEY ARE ACTUALLY THE ONES DOING WHAT HE COMMANDED! Take care of the poor, elderly, widows/children, etc. The ones in the Whitehouse are false religious leaders...CAN WE SAY PHARISEES?

You make a good point, health care in the US is not set up the way it should be.
