For foundation, I prefer sponge becuase then you can really blend it and also sometimes the brush hair get on your face and stick to the foundation. For eyeshadow, both work equally well, but I prefer the sponge applicator becuase then you can get it a little bit wet which makes the eye color so much more intense and long-lasting. For lip gloss, I just always use the lip brush that comes with it and it's always worked fine for me.

I always use a brush unless with foundation you have some blemishes then use a sponge, but blot the makeup in the area and smooth over with a light powder finish then brush on. When you apply more makeup with brushes it gives it a softer look. You can still go for dramatic if you apply more. But this way it doesn't look like you need a chizel to get it off your face at night when washing.

-if liquid foundation apply it with finger it works better then use sponge to even it out..if u are adding a powder use a brush
-use a brush for eyeshadow
-u can use the lipbrush or just the applicator

I apply foundation and eyeshadow with my fingers,I find it gives a more even application.As for lipgloss,I prefer the sponge tip.

foundation: sponge Why?: because you can smooth it on better and with the brush you can really put it on smoothly
eyeshadow: brush Why?: because using a small brush you can put it on da lid evenly while the sponge may make the make up look alittle to much
glose: lip brush why?: because it glides on smoothly

eyeshadow: brush for overall and sponge for accentuating
lipstick: doesn't matter...whatever it comes in...
