You are descended from an English lord - Sir Fr. Truscott, whether he was a Lord Mayor or not. Most of the titled families in England were connected by marriage to other titled families, so it's worth checking out the other connections.You never know how close you might be related to royalty in Britain, because so many kings and princes made serial adulterers look tame!

No you're not royalty at all. The Lord Mayor of London is an elected position and he has nothing to do with the royals, just in the aristocracy. He was the 1879 Mayor. As you can see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Lord_Mayors_of_London
there is a new one every year, so he was important at the time, but has no ties today.

Lord Mayor is a political position not a hereditary title
You cannot inherit the status of such a position
Thus you sadly cannot qualify for aristocracy for this.

However if your family has retained enough of the passed down wealth and contacts u may qualify in other ways.

None of this makes you royalty however.
Sorry =p

It's hard to tell as back then everyone with a job was known as a lord or lady. I am not trying to down play it. Have you looked them up in the history books in England? It would be intersting to find out what you can of who they were and their role in Government.
I was told that I am a descendent of German Royalty. We have no way of knowing whether that is true or not because in Germany they didn't get public records of births and deaths. Each family had a family bible where information was recorded and passed down. Our family bible was handed down to my Grandmother which was lost in house fire back in 1966. It would be interesting to know if there is truth to the claims or not. Have fun looking up your heritage!

As someone has said, the Lord Mayor is an elected position, it's not a title. And no matter how high a title is in the aristocracy, it's not royalty, that is a separate class.

Probably not. If you think about it, over time and with interbreeding, just about everyone is decendant from someone with a title. Usually "royalty" today is only applied to specific royal families. (ie Windsors or Grimaldis). Sorry to burst your bubble.
