Does anyone else notice that when one disagrees with a liberal point of view, they are branded as an idiot?

Liberals seem to be all for free speech except when it isn't what they want to hear. For the record, I am neither conservative or liberal. I am a pragmatist. I have conservative and liberal views depending on the issue being discussed.

You are so right. I am also a pragmatist. So at one time I hear cheers for agreeing with the liberal mainstream and then treated like a pile of S*** for saying I even thought about the other side of the issue. Free speech is for everyone but some people feel they deserve it more. We all need to express our opinions or we might as well get rid of our system of governance and live under one philosophy. Since that would suck, the liberals need to chill and respect everyone's opinion

I don't think this is true - - actually, I think it's as true of certain liberals as it is of certain conservatives. Some people are reactionary and some aren't. Some like constructive debate and others don't. Saying that all people of one viewpoint are the same works well for the bloggers and pundits. It sells books and papers. But it's not the real world.

one reason for that is liberals think from the heart, but they dont want the facts, as it clouds their outlook. for example;

a conservative sees a homeless man on the street, digs into his pocket and gives the man a business card of company looking to hire people, and the business card of an apartment complex that has low cost housing available. and then feels good about helping the man get back on his feet.

a liberal sees a homeless man, and reaches into someone else's pocket, pulls out a wad of money and gives it to the homeless man, and feels good about using someone else's money to help the man.

liberals are about feeling good about themselves.

It's simply a lack of tolerance for people who think differently than they do. They claim to be all about tolerance, yet they only show it to people on the same side as they are on.
