We're supposed to get past 100 degrees ... sun rise at 6:30 ... sun set around 8:45 PM.

I'm looking for the two hottest hours to find a movie time so I can escape the worst of the heat ... Thanks.

Maximum heating is obtained between the hours of 3-5 pm.

With maximum short wave radiation (sun) being between 3-4, and maximum long wave radiation (earth recycling suns heat) being at about 4-5p.m.

The peak heating occurs where the 2 meet. This DOES change daily however, based upon maximum cloud cover, precipitation, albedo and etc from location to location.

This depends upon where you live and the particular weather conditions that are occurring. If it's going to be over 100 where you live I'd guess it will be between noon and sunset. Trying to pin it down closer than that from such limited information is silly.

As a caveat I'll mention that I recall a year in my hometown (San Diego) where the very hottest temperature of the entire year happened after 9 at night (sunset was well before 8).

Well, G, It's hottest when I go out. So keep an eye on me, when I come out of the door, it's movie time!

Oh, okay...it's hottest between 2 and 7 pm. Formally. Like in the earth and weather science classes I took.

Peak heating by insolation is almost always between 3:30-4:30 P.M.

Most of the people that answered this question are meteorologicaly ignorant.

PEAK HEATING BY INSOLATION IS NOT AT 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM or 3 PM, its usually around 4 P.M.

Generally its between 12pm and 3 pm. That's when the sun is most directly overhead so its the hottest. But this window can vary depending on your location.

Stay cool!

Two different questions with two different answers. The temp is influenced by a lot of factors. But burning is a direct result of exposure to sun's UV rays. This happens when angle is most direct ( ~noon to ~ 4pm). Keep in mind that UV can penetrate moderate cloud cover.

Mid-day is when the sun is at its strongest; approx. 11 am to 3 pm. So I would watch your movie between noon and 2 pm.
