We must orient ourselves back to our Founders vision for America and the Constitution. Of course, that is easier said than done in a society that is in a constant state of change. I think it must begin in school; children must be familiar with American Civics, history, and have a comprehension for logic and rationality. Whatever happened to teaching for critical thinking? At the same time, MORALITY is important too, but this should not be placed in the hands of school teachers. This is the parents' and religious community's responsibility and is just as vital a component to a child's upbringing as is their public education.

I realize this question has been adequately answered but the bottom line is to implement what Sangria is talking about we need a basic founding father type candidate and we do have one in the person of the right honorable Dr. Ron Paul!
Further she is absolutely right in that the real problem is with the international foundation led and federal government controlled prison camps we call public schools! Just watch, next will be armed guards! Not only are they changing history but aren't even teaching the basics as can be seen by a lot of people here that can't put a proper question or answer together.

You are.
And I am.
The time has finally come in American politics when John Q. Public absolutely MUST get up off the couch and rouse his lazy butt into action.
We must - you and I and him and her and they and them - we must ALL OF US call, email, and write our elected Reps to the point where they DESPISE hearing from us.
Seriously.
Long gone is the time of us "being represented."
They are there for THEMSELVES.
We must stomp and scream and shout about what we want. No, what we DEMAND.
Are you up for the challenge?

You will like this quote someone just posted on my board:
"The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small
electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through,
carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when
the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second
and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make
itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically,
the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly
disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency
tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the
office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the
people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day
the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last,
and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron"

america is built on lie's and missunderstanding, period. to go into politics and have an answer to not really who but how, you need to pick at each an every issue we have today, yesterday, and for the future of our children. where will social secrurity be when i am 60 or for our kids? i love what one girl had said about goin back in time to find what your lookin for but you must also remember that lies and missunderstanding where used to put the constitution together. taxes? a bunch of bankers lied, which meens the IRS really has no job, which meens there is no such thing. who is left? look into it, take the time to know what other people know and dont know. what ever happened to teaching eachother or self teaching. if you know something that would benifit for everyone why wouldnt you want them to know and understand it the same way you learned?wouldnt that be truth? there are many many many people out there, jus gotta find em.there will always be someone who doesnt agree, so befor you find someone that will listen to the people, the people need to come together, which then rids of missunderstanding....

Sangria is one intelligent individual and formulates a terrific response. I'm impressed. She hits the nail right on the head. While I tend to lean toward Conservative values, I do not feel that either major party accurately represents my beliefs. I vote the candidate and not the party, but at times it is like choosing the best of the worst. Sangria for President!

No one running today is there to represent working Americans ideas and their interests. The party's that do represent the interests of American workers are not allowed by either Dems or Repubs to enter the race. The Green Party is a great example of a party who is concerned with working families and the middle class. They actually are against NAFTA which is hurting middleclass blue collar families. NAFTA is about acheiving that one-world govenrment. They are also upset with both major parties for allowing companies to outsource jobs to other countries without tax penalties. Both major parties allows companies to outsource and they give them huge tax breaks to do so. I vote Green because they do address these issues of working people and their families.

I'm sure you could find suitable candidates. Unfortunately, the higher up in elected office they become, the further away from the common people, and closer to the special interests they become. We all hear how drugs like meth open up a bottomless pit for addicts--how about the same kind of hole that opens up for politicians. If only one person, with the strength of character and courage to do whats right for you and me came along. Someone who could resist the strong temptation to sell out, someone who didn'y care about reelection as much as doing good for their country. God, what a shame....

I don't know, but one thing for sure, we better research each and every candidate before we elect him/her to office! Oh, by the way, we also got to get away from good old party politics because if we don't we are going to continue to sell off America to the highest bidder. In fact the chimp has already done some of that!

Each person has the right to speak up, to act, to write to their elected officials, to support causes that are important to them.
Who is left? The hard-working, thinking Americans! Don't just sit there! Do something.
