What is going on with this "I like cheese" stuff? What does it mean? What is the point of that comment? Kids are saying it as a joke or something these days. Is it from a television thing like "I've fallen and I can't get up?"? Or does it have some special meaning when said?

Being "random" is a fad among middle school children these days. However, many of them are not really clever enough to be random. So they say things like "I like cheese" in the pauses in conversations to seem cool and make their little friends giggle. I'm not sure how that particular phrase came about as a way of being "random," but it was starting to be used when I was in middle school 6 years or so ago. It has no real meaning.

I think it's because cheese is funny to begin with, and saying you like it at random can be quite amusing as well. It's not a sexual thing if that's what you mean.

Uh, no. All it is is another saying for people to try to be funny. Believe me, I've heard all sorts of related phrases and they say it so often that it's really not random anymore.
