i bought a computer but later found out, im buggerd! when i switched it on, it came up with a blue screen and all polish writing :s ..... how to i wipe this computer clean to install xp on it?

You have a Polish language of Windows installed on your PC. It's speaking / showing everything in Polish.
Back up all personal data from your PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive), if needed, and do a store-bought Windows XP "Clean Install" (for instructions go to: (www.theeldergeek.com). You will need the motherboard drivers, too.
Note: You must buy the manufacturer's English Recovery disks, to avoid driver problems, if available, not a store-bought XP.

what does the writing say? if it is really in polish, you'll probably need to reinstall, but you'll be able to do an "in place upgrade" which keeps all your files and programs, but reinstalls windows. if you don't have your xp cd-key, you can get a free cd-key grabber and reuse your key (that IS legal so long as you only use the key to reinstall over it, or you uninstall xp before installing it on another box)

If the PC is new, call the vendor, they may have a reinstall utility on the PC already (with IBM systems you can hit F11 or Gateway is "R" and it'll take you to the system recovery program. If not, they can explain how to use the recovery CDs or Windows CDs or what ever shipped with your PC.
