Most often, it is the MAN who will do what he knows he needs to do rather than what he wants to do. Mature "men" know how to defer immediate gratification for a more lasting and effective relationship and/or a better quality of product. The "boy" will most frequently opt for "here and now" instead of later and "what is easy" will be chosen over "what is worthwhile". Durable quality will be frequently, forgone by the juvenile-minded male in favor of what "looks" good.

Men take responsibility for themselves and their actions, treat everyone with respect unless someone proves they don't deserve respect, honorable to women, protective of those that are in danger, help those in need when possible, caring toward children, honest to a fault but willing to admit when they're wrong.

Age,experience, unselfishness, caring about others, seeing women as people and not as objects.
Knowing that being a father is more than paying $35.00 a month. Being a dad means changing diapers, helping with homework, going to ear bleeding band concerts.
Men keep their eyes and hands to themselves, they don't discuss their love life with strangers, or how hot a chick is to the guys, this direspects his whole family.
There's more and it goes for women too

Yeah, I agree with some of the above. It's emotional maturity. The pre-frontal cortex may not mature until we are 25 or so. This is one of the "higher" sensors of the brain, and may be responsible for emotional maturity.

12 weeks of basic training, four weeks of advanced basic, Ranger and Airborne school and about two years on the front lines under fire.
That'll do it every time.
