Well, since we don't have an office of Prime Minister here in the US, the answer is no. However, I would definitely vote for a black woman to be President (that woman being Condoleezza Rice, of course).

Yes why not, if he was standing on policies that I belived were best for the country.
Of course in the UK we dont vote for a Prime Minister - we vote for a local Member of Parliament who represents our area.
The leader of the political party with the majority of MPs becomes Prime Minister because he has the most support in the House of Commons

I'm not old enough to vote, but I dont look at anybody by the color of their skin. It just depends on the party's policies. So, of course, what reason do I have not to vote for a black man for Prime Minister?

Here in UK we do not vote for a prime minister. Voters are presented with a number of candidates standing for election in their constituency.
If the leader of a given party happens to be black and that party represents the beliefs and aspirations of the elector, then as an elector I would vote for the party with a black leader, if it's manifesto expressed what I believe in.

WE don't vote for Prime Ministers - the Queen appoints them.
Would I vote for a candidate from a party led by a black person? Would depend on the Party - a black Tory is still a Tory!

Yes if all the other questions were answered the way I need them to be -
Party platform etc
The black Govenor General we have has been the best in memory - of course she was appointed to her post and so I didn't vote for her - but I think that still has an impact - people of all parties seem to like and accept her very well

The first ever British black PM will be a Labour PM, and he (or she) would get my vote. I doubt the Tories will ever have a black leader - remember the 1992 election? They put a black candidate in a "safe" seat and he lost, so clearly Tory voters are naturally racist. Labour, on the other hand, have had lots of wonderful black MPs like the wonderful late Bernie Grant, Diane Abbott, Paul Boateng - in fairness to the Tories they do have a couple of muslims now.

Somebody above me said they'd vote for a Black person if they were Conservative. If they were Conservative, they'd be brain washed. Somebody also said they'd vote Black, but not Asian. I agree with them. We've tried women, that didn't work, let's try ethnic minority now. I'm not sexist, I believe we could have a good woman Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher was just s**t.

You should not even have to ask. The best person for the job is just that whatever colour , creed or sex. We are too preoccupied with irrelevant details. It might be good to have a complete change, we had an Asian Mayor in Manchester recently and he was a great example to all. Good luck

The policies are what matter, not the colour of his/her skin. Incidentally , why a black man? Could not a black woman answer the question just as well?
