I just noticed a noise when I turn my steering wheel, it happens when the car is in park and while driving. I tried to listen for exactly where the noise was coming from and it sounded like it was coming from the dash area instead of the steering wheel area.

I checked the PS fluid, and that is not low.

Check the power steering fluid in the reservoir. It may be low. Have your power steering pressure line and return hose checked for leaks. The serpentine belt may need replacement and or the belt spring loaded belt tension mechanism.

If your steering wheel feels heavy or jerky in your hands the pump or steering rack may need service.

u said that it happens in park, do u mean not running and in park? if so then its not the pump alone. usually your power steering pump will make a grinding noise when turning if its bad or low on fluid.

--good luck

it might be the pump or a bad steering wheel hose , if it truly is a power steering problem you'll hear a whining noise every time you turn the steering wheel or while your accelerating

It sounds like a problem with your axel. If your power steering has failed, you should notice that it becomes very difficult to turn the wheel.

Check the PS fluid level & belt condition. Chasing noises in a car can be tough, as they travel in the body.

It might make a squeaky sound or it's just the fluid that you are missing. If none of those work take it to the mechanic.
