Take a look at the following clip from Yahoo News regarding the bombing at Glasgow International Airport:

Police said one man arrested in Glasgow is Bilal Abdulla.

According to the British General Medical Council's register, a man named Bilal Talal Abdul Samad Abdulla was registered in 2004 and trained in Baghdad. Staff at Royal Alexandra Hospital said one suspect was a doctor of Middle Eastern or Iraqi origin who worked there.

A second man arrested late Saturday on a highway in central England is Mohammed Jamil Abdelqader Asha, according to a police official who was not authorized to publicly disclose the details and spoke on condition of anonymity. The medical register said Asha trained in Jordan, gaining a medical degree in 2004.

The left keeps denouncing the war on terrorism and says that the solution is to offer economic opportunities to Muslim countries. Their rationale is the extremists are mostly impoverished underclass Arabs. Really now? How do you explain this?

I obviously haven't made myself clear, so I'll expound: What we have here are two men of Arab descent who are well-educated enough to be doctors and well-off enough to practice in the UK involved in a terror plot. In the same vein, the four men who flew the planes on 9/11 were all college-educated, well-traveled, multi-lingual members of the Arab upper class. So how can the liberals say that offering economic opportunities to impoverished or lower-class Arabs will help stem the tide on terrorism when some of the smartest, most entitled Arabs are the ones trying to kill the infidels in terrorist attacks?

You are quite right to pick up on this point. There exists a myth that these Islamic terrorists are young, disaffected, impoverished Muslims. It's rubbish.

We must all remember that these terrorists don't commit these atrocities because of anything in the British foreign policy - though it suits them for us to think this is the case. Islamic terrorists have been hijacking planes and recruiting suicide bombers ever since the late 1970s when the Ayatollah first officially declared 'war on the west'.

These terrorists follow an evil doctrine and they commit evil acts. We, the British, are the victims and we have done nothing to bring this on ourselves.

by reading the reactions to your questions you have hit a nerve.

yes, we all suffer from terrorist ...i have heard that the real terrorist are glad that the US and allies are in Iraq as this causes their cause to grow even larger. Does this sound like delusion.? no ..think about it..the more you squeeze some cause the more it grows stronger...

Israel is a very good example..From the humble beginning of Israel in 1946 to the country that it is today.

Hitler or any other dictator could not stop the Jewish nation..in fact I believe he is responsible for the Jewish state today ..along with misguided other countries...

There will always be causes that are persecuted...Muslims are growing in number..the biggest increase in religion in the world..
so the left is not to blame for sounding the alarm..but the right is not to blame either..we need a balance of power..that is the real meaning of a Repulic...no more kings...or petty dictators...Bush is going in Jan. 2009..we shall get a new leader in Washington..the war on terrorism will not end in our lifetime nor our childrens..keep the faith..it will end someday

So........you're blaming liberals and their philosophies or ideologies for the 'war' on 'terrorism'???
If I'm not mistaken, it was a conservative U.S. President who declared an unconstitutional, illegal, unjustifiable, immoral 'war' on another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
I don't consider myself a conservative or a liberal..because I don't believe either political agenda is appropriate or commendable. But I resent liberals who arbitrarily blame all the flaws in this world on conservatives, and vice-versa. War begets war. Hatred, bias, bigotry and prejudice begets hatred, bias, bigotry and prejudice. Maybe what both the conservatives and liberals in this country need is a little bit of understanding, compassion, and tolerance for those of us who aren't right-wing Christians, left-wing 'wackos' or rich white guys. The U.K. bombings have nothing to do with conservatism or liberalism...it all has to do with the Muslim disdain for an American culture that they don't understand, nor for which they have no compassion or tolerance. -RKO- 07/02/07

They cant. That excuse isnt used any more.

Its George Bush's fault.

If there is an attack in the US now its because we are in Iraq (even though we werent on Sep 10th , 2001)

If there is another attack here its because the President didnt do enough to keep us safe (Even though the left has fought tooth and nail on every attempt made to do what is needed)

If the attack happens before the National Elections they will probably say that GW did it to get the republicans elected.

If a Dem gets elected and we get attacked its because of the previous administration.

Its a no win situation.

Oh...and now some dumbasses will call me a right wing nut.....

instead of trying to get a few terrorists in a few countries it would make a hell of a lot more sense to be spending all of that money improving our systems in the homeland, and leaving them alone. The wars in iraq and afghanistan are doing nothing but provoking more muslims to join the radical movement and become terrorists. we need to work on improving diplomacy with these nations, and let them root out the radical extremists themselves. which would also include countries like the united states and britain, rooting out local terrorists, but the one thing we CAN NOT do, is to label all muslims a threat, because the vast vast majority are no threat at all.

I say get the us/uk/oz out of iraq and out of their affairs, out of their country, and ye shall see no more revenge acts. They have said the guy who perpetrated it was angry about Iraq,it really is that basic. We are gaining nothing by being there.

During the four years of occupation of Iraq, more Iraqis have been killed, maimed, disappeared, tortured, ethnically cleansed, injured, widowed, orphaned and made homeless than under 30 years of Saddam’s dictatorship. We are just making things worse there and end up suffering because of it.

I'm not a liberal, I'm a radical moderate independent.

But employing critical thinking - what we are seeing now is a direct result of right wing conservative policies.

Q. Do you think these terrorist attack indicate that these conservative policies are successful ?

My reading of the large-scale policies is this - conservatives want to bring democracy to various countries. Liberals want to bring peace and safety to individuals in various countries.
