In the book 6, Harry Potter didn't die because I have read it. The only person died is Professor Albus Dumbledore. There assumptions that Harry Potter will die in Book 7 and this will be the last. But I think he may die because of a good reason and that may end the story.
To answer your question, I will not stop watching Harry Potter 6 and 7 because it is only in book or movie 7 that there is a possibility that he may die.

Depends on how he "dies." Remeber, it's "magic land" the dead aren't really dead. If he dies "honorably" and permanently, personally I would still see them, but I think it will rout some people. If he dies anti-climactically, again I still would, but it would lose money BIG TIME in the box office. If he doesn't die, it depends on how Rowling ties up the loose ends in the book and sends it off in the sunset. Bottom line is that the ending of the books will have an effect on the previous movies as well. The final book will set the bar for which the entire series will be judged, remebered, and categorized. If he dies anti-climactically, it will be remebered as a Tragedy genre. If he dies heroically, it will be remembered as an Epic. If he lives on, it will be remembered as a Drama.
I am not a huge Harry Potter fan, never read the books, my wife has, but it will undoubtedly have an effect on all the kids who grew up with it. It could be the next Star Wars, Star Trek, D&D, etc., dork crowd/club in schools and conventions in the future.

No - it has been kinda like a ritual to go and see them when they have come out in the cinema - except the 4th - i didnt see that. But wouldn't they have to kinda rename it if he died? Otherwise it would be a bit pointless calling it Harry Potter lol. I don't think he will die - unless it is at the end of the 7th! :0)

There would NOT be any more movies IF Harry died!
First clue: All the movies are actually called Harry Potter because Harry Potter IS what they are about. If he died, they wouldn't call them Harry Potter movies anymore because he would be dead and have no more stories to tell. Duh! Just use a little bit of common sense here okay ;-)

I don't really get into the movies after they messed up the third by withholding important information, that would haved helped the movie only fans understand things better.

I don't know if I would go and see them in theaters but I would definetly still see them. I think its unlikely that he will die, unless its at the end of the 7th movie.

i think HP movies and books suck. like the famous jeremy from PP once sed, and i quote, " i mean, liek, elves, orcs and magic and stuff, are for people who arent, gonna liek, have sex and stuff," he is a wise one, and i choose to believe in his famous quote. if harry died, it'd probably make the movie better.
