When is it better to use an ice bath versus an ice/water bath within an experiment?

This particular experiment involves the oxidation of aromatic side chain. It is used as a way to crystallize chlorobenzoic acid. I want to understand why its important not to simply use an ice bath.

An Ice Water bath has a temperature close to 0 degrees Celsius under standard conditions. An Ice bath may have a temperature below 0.
