just tell him how you feel. don't your feelings count? its your life. it will be hard to be friends after he revealed his love for you. so think about that too. could you be friends with someone who thinks of you romantically and you don't? maybe time to distance yourself.

Lazertag, in my opinion you'd be best to be 100% honest with this fella and I'll bet that he would appreciate the honesty. He may feel a bit awkward and/or embarrassed for a little while, but if your friendship is true then soon enough things will be back to normal. But if you go out with him just because you don't want to lose his friendship it won't be real and therefore will do harm to your relationship overall. You sound like a pretty mature female so do what your heart is telling you to do and be straight up with this guy and you'll save a valuable friendship that may last you for a lifetime.

ok well you should go out and let it be seen that you don't like him as anything other than a friend, when you get home or soemtime even during the date just plainly say so what do you think of us..he will probably hesitate and say i dont know what do you think and then say well i like you a lot as a friend and i am nervous to take it to another level being that it could screw up our friendship and that would kill me.. ok so i have done that a few times and i have always stuck to those lines.. good luck (or you could tell hoim something came up and keep making excuses and he'll figure it out)

Get "the heart" to tell him. Wouldn't you want to be told if the situation were reversed or would you rather either be 1) strung along (and eventually feel a fool when you discover the truth) or 2) get the brush off?
If you can't be honest with people about how you feel, then you aren't mature enough to be dating or in dating situations. There are almost always going to be times when we have to let someone down or tell them "no, thank you"...treat people as you'd hope they'd treat you, with honesty and respect. ☺

The same thing always happens to me. Tell him how you feel. Tell him he's a great guy and all, but you don't want to ruin your friendship. Talk about how you plan on having quit a few boyfriends and you don't want him to be just one of him. If he's a good friend, he should understand.

Just tell him I don't like you in that way but I do want to be friends. I still want to hang out and I hope that this don't destroy our friendship (if you guys are friends)

Tell him how you feel right now. Don't prolong the agony. The sooner you let him know this is just a friendship thing the better it will be for both parties to foster this 'friendship' type relationship.

I would be honest with him tell him that you just like him as a friend. If he really likes you he should understand.

Best grow some heart. Do the right thing.
In the long run, it will hurt worse if you are less than honest.

tell him.
it will hurt him way more if you go out with him out of pity and then break up.
