Do this:
Kilogram - Hectogram - Dekagram - Gram - Decigram - Centigram - Milligram.
The above will determine how many decimal places you will move the decimal point.
Your question: 1 kilogram is how many in grams?
Using the above sequence, start at KILOGRAM then count how many times you will move to get to GRAM.
It's 3 times to the right, right?
So wth 1 kilogram, the decimal point is after the number 1, move the decimal point three times to the right. You should come up with 1000.
1 kilogram = 1000 grams
The same can be used with liters.
Kiloliter-Hectoliter-Dekaliter-Liter-Deciliter-Centiliter-Milliliter
Or with meter:
Kilometer-Hectometer-Dekameter-Meter-Decimeter-Centimeter-Millimeter

grams and kilograms are unit of weight
pound is unit of weight , too.
1 pound = 453.592 gram
1 kg = 1000 gram
= (1000/453.592 ) = 2.2 pounds
