They put together a winner in Florida, with very little money, and now here they go again, are they the best or do you have to look at Oakland and others?

It's going to be hard to beat out Georgie on Tigers questions, but give it a try. I am still a little mad at Georgie for "blocking" out so many of us on his questions.

Yes!

Dombrowski took over in 2001 as President. Randy Smith was our GM back then, and David wanted to see what he had. After he saw the mess that Randy Smith had created, it didnt take him long to fire Smith & Phil Garnder 11 games into the 2002 season. He took over the GM duties then ,and it's been somewhat of a rough road (119 losses in 2003); but one that was well worth the wait. The best thing he ever did was to fire Randy Smith AND Phil Gardner! I was so happy to see Gardner GO!!!
Dombrowski has made some darn good trades; one of which I was kinda of mad at----he traded Jeff Weaver (at the time he was our "ace") for Jeremy Bonderman. They rest, as they say, is history!

Another trade he made was to Seattle for Carlos Guillen. He traded him for Omar Infante and juan gonlazez (not he same juan)--and guess what? We got Omar back via another trade and he is great off the bench!!!
Dave has re-stocked our farm system and is very shrewd. Because of him, My Beloved Tigers are looking to be contenders for years. He has also resigned Bonderman and Inge to multi year contracts (as well as Guillen) and lets not even mention that SUPER trade he made to get Gary Sheffield!

Bringing in Trammell for the 2003 season to manage was probably just a PR move, as he knew The Tigers were losing fans by the groove (not me!) and he needed a well known Detroit name to help bring in fans. I was kind of sad to see Trammell let go; but just as well. He was a Great Player--but no so good as manager. Bringing in Leyland was the straw that stirred the drink! Leyland has his players playing the game and he will NOT tolerate any kind of laziness!!!

I could babble all day on how much those 2 men have restored hope and faith to a baseball city that really needed it.

Detroit has always been a baseball town, it was just dorimant for years. Thank You Mr Dombrowsksi & Mr Leyland for giving us Tigers Hope & Faith once more!

yes, they are worked together for many years since on Florida Marlins in 1997 which lead the team to World Series over Cleveland Indians.

Today, Detroit Tigers had been improve their trade and money with won the AL League Champions last year. They could lead the All-Star game with the starters on AL team with six players this year. They decides to return to World Series this year to try to win the World Series.

Now, they need to battle against the AL central leader, Cleveland Indians as Tigers are hope to steal the AL central title from Indains this fall.

Nope I Think Terry "Tito" Francona is one hell of a manager, with Leyland definitely coming in 2nd.

Well, they have the same amount of World Series titles together as I do, so the answer is no.
