My current boyfriend can't get over my past relationship. I was with my x since I was 18... We got married when we were 25 and he left me a year and a half later for a girl who he has lived happily with ever since. I officially became divorced in June this year but have been seperated for 2 years now... My current BF and I have been together for a year and he still gets mad when I talk about my past (not relating to x). If I mention a time I went camping he gets mad and says I am bringing up my ex... I feel like he doesn't want to know about me. I have had a lot of good times and some bad. I just want to share my good memories. I am over my ex husband, why does he keep getting mad at me and how do I stop the attitude??

You probably don't realize you're doing it, but I'll bet you're talking about your ex too frequently for your boyfriend's tastes. That's a sign you haven't emotionally moved on yet, and he's going to be sensitive to that as long as it continues.

Simple. Your current boyfriend is insecure. You could try talking to him about it, tell him what you told us here in a gentle non confrontational way, making sure to make him understand how much you care for him and how over your ex you are. If he reacts in anger, you are probably going to have all sorts of communication/trust issues throughout your relationship so you might be better off without him. If he handles the discussion in a rational, mature way that indicates he wants to work this issue out, then give him a chance to deal with it. Also, under scenario two, if you are going to try to work it out, make a special effort to discuss your ex as little as possible.

You are not going to be able to stop the attitude. Sounds like he is a bit insecure about your relationship. I would talk to him and let him know that he has no need to worry, that relationship was over years ago. I wish you the best of luck!
