Even though people use laptop and notebook synonymously there exists some changes between these two. Notebook is light weight and thinner compared to laptop. Notebook is designed for extreme portability with reasonable power where as laptop is designed to offer performance equal to an desktop.

Not much...initially, the term notebook was INTENDED for small computers that could be arm-carried and stylus-written, somewere between palm-top and laptop, but that idea went away purdy quickly. There are a couple-so true "notebooks" around - you know the kind, the swivel-tops, you can turn their screens about, lay flat atop the entire kaboodle, carry like a clipboard, in the crook of your arm for awhile, without feeling too weighted down, to meetings and such? Not too many of those, anymore!

Laptop, Notebook, now they have another new name, Tablet.

A NOTEBOOK IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS A LAPTOP. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT IT IS MADE FOR WORKING PURPOSE AND NOT MULTIMEDIA AND GAMING.
