No Tantra is not about sex although sexuality is important in certain (but not all) forms of Tantra.
Tantra is a term that denotes a certain kind of culture within Buddhism and Hinduism. That is, there are Vedic and Tantric forms of Hinduism and Buddhism. (Example, pure Vedic-type Hinduism, technically speaking, is considered "orthodox" and the pure Tantric type is considered "unorthodox" but modern Hinduism incorporates elements from both genres .Most Tibetan Buddhist sects are Tantric type whereas other forms of Buddhism may not be considered "Tantric. The Dalai Lama practices a form of Tantric Buddhism) A lot of ritualism and observances are involved in Tantric spiritual systems and some have mystical disciplines that involve transmuting sexual energy through meditation and/or sexual practices.
The sexual aspect of certain forms of Tantra intrigues westerners and over the past century or so, Tantra (east and west) has become associated with spiritualized sexual practices and also with sex magic. We have early 20th century western occultists to thank for the sex magic spin and also have persons confusing Tantric practices with practices related to something called "kama shastra"--which is what the Kama sutra is. Kama shastra means something like, "The Discipline of Lust." and that is just what it is: how to have a really great sex life in and of itself.

Tantra in Sanskrit means any act or ritual done with any object or idol followed by chanting [mantra] aimed at doing some magic or evil which is surreal.
It has truly nothing to do with sex!!!!!

yes but a bit more complicated
it is about SACRED LOVE
find a teacher and some good books and REALLY STUDY IT
don't bother if all you are looking for is wild sex positions...just get the latest issue of Cosmo for that
and don't do it if you haven't found your life partner
but if you study TANTRA, a true spiritual discipline (philosophy) not only will you and your soulmate have better sex, but a deeper RELATIONSHIP

Definition: n. Any of a comparatively recent class of Hindu or Buddhist religious literature written in Sanskrit and concerned with powerful ritual acts of body, speech, and mind.
In other words a "book".
However, I don't see how "sex" has to do with this.
