Doctors say to wait 18 months so that your body has time to heal. My kids are 22 months apart and I had no problem with the 2nd pregnancy. Do what feels right to you.

I have 2 boys and they are exactly 2 years apart, they were born on the same day, they are 3 and 1. Me and my husband are currently trying for another baby. I think you should do what will make you happy if you feel that you would like another child then go for it, just make sure your husband also agrees. I think it is good for my kids to be close in age , when i see my 2 babies playing together and learning together and just thinking they can have another brother or sister is great.

New research has indicated that waiting until after you other child has turned two. It usually takes approx. two years for a womans body to return to it's normal state, and provides your first child with that one on one bonding time that they need at such a young age. The older the first child the easier the transition to the new born baby, they can participate in feeding, changing etc, and are less likley to feel jealous.

It's better for your body to wait a year after giving birth. It takes a long time to replenish your stores of nutrients. Some sources even advocate wating 2 years.
Check with your doctor for a personalized assement.

Whenever you feel truly ready, but if it was me I'd wait until the oldest is in preschool or kindergarden.
