1. 60 inches is the total length of all sides. A pentagon has 5 sides, and a regular pentagon has 5 sides that are all the same length. Therefore, the length of each side of the window is 60inches/5sides =12inches

2. The formula for the circumfrence is 2π r. r is the radius of the circle which is one half the diameter, so r = 15 centimeters. The circumfrence is the 2*π*15 = 30π = 94.2477

3. Using the same formula as #2. 2π r = 42 Then divide both sides by 2 and π r = 21. Then divide both sides by π and r = 6.68

4. Same thing again. 9.42 = 2π r. Since you are looking for the diameter now instead of the radius, all you need to do is divide 9.42 by π . 9.42/π = 2.9984

Note: π is a non-repeating, non terminating decimal. This means that there is no repeating pattern, and it does not end. The first 10 digits of π are 3.141592653

1) A 12 in. 60/5 sides = 12
2) C=d*pi=30*3.14=94.2 cm
3) C=2pi*r...42=2pi*r....42/(2pi) = 6.69 in.
4) C=pi*d...9.42=pi*d....9.42/pi = 3 cm

(1) A
A pentagon has 5 sides. 60/5 = 12"

(2) C
Circ = D*pi = 30*3.14159 = 94.248

(3) D
Circ = 2*pi*r ==>
42 = 2*3.14159*r
r = 6.6845

(4) A
Circ = pi*D ==>
9.42 = 3.14*D
D = 3
