I'm 13...I just started the "you-know-what" cycle... I change the pad out every 2-4 hours because it feels so nasty...Is that okay or am I being wasteful? Yeah I've only had it for 2 days and I already hate it.

no not at all, the last thing you want to do is feel grose when you have to deal with other stuff to, like the headeaches and cramps and bloating, but your really not being waste ful because 2- 4 hours is a good time to change it. also if you feel grose down there which is normal carry some baby wipes in your purse so you can wipe and it leaved to feeling fresh good luck!

Well i don't normally use pads now... but i use to and i changed them about every 2 to 4 hours.. as long as there is some blood in there ur fine to change it around then you don't want it to smell.....Yeah and you're always going to hate having it sorry to tell u

I think it is fine if you change it every 2-4 hours, but as your period gets lighter you could change it every 4-5 hours because it will not feel as nasty and it will not smell as bad.

Welcome to the club, sister. By the way, only 45 more years until menopause!! Anyway, you're doing just fine. Don't make yourself uncomfortable or unclean in the name of conservation. However, don't go crazy on these things if you're just having a medium or light day. Consult your mom on this. I'll bet she can give you some good advice.

When I used pads, I changed them every time I went to the bathroom. I didn't want that gross thing touching me.

Well im 12 but i havent started.but it is not wateful...cause u are keeping ur self healthy and infection free so i would do the same if it felt nasty..

ok this is it u are going to hate it all your life untill u reach the age that u stop having it and no i do not think u are wasteful because your period could flow more fluently.

It depends on how heavy your flow is. If your light, then you dont need to change it as much.
Maybe consider tampons.

yea i always change often cuz its nasty sometimes..and i also hate it ! haha welcome to 35 years of misery. but oh well once you get used to it its like nothing. and also, tampons are an idea ...?:P dont worry they come with instructions and dont feel bad i had to use the instructions! :D lmao.

Change it however often you need to in order to feel comfortable. (Unless there is alot of blood, you probably don't need to change it so often)
