How do you when you can begin exercising again? I've rested up for about 2.5 weeks now. The pain has subsided. The thing that I am afraid of is, even when the pain is gone, how do you know that pain won't come back? What if the bone is not really completely healed?

I'm confused with this injury!

It depends on the severity of the fracture as to how long it will take to heal.

Speaking from experience...and more than a few broken bones as well...(anyone ride dirt-bikes???) here is how rib fractures affected me...and if I had to do it all over...here's what I learned.

Unless the fracture is completely healed, you can re-aggravate the injury by simply sneezing too hard, you know I'm sure...

I estimated my readiness by starting to jog...run...and as soon as a could do this pain-free...I started living again....

Hope this helps.

Good Luck

You should check with the doctor and the physiotherapist about the optimal time to rest and the type of exercises that you can take up.
