what is the specific factor of the two compounds that could distinguish one from the other? reply asap!!! tnx!

DMA should have a much lower boiling point than would heptaneamine for starters. From a chemical viewpoint, I'm sure there is some reaction that would be unique to a -NH2 group as compared to a -NH- group, but I don't know of one offhand.

Performing an NMR should show different splitting patterns for each of the compounds.

dimethylamine is a gas (bp 7°)
heptylamine is a liquid
