It's always better to improve yourself, just as it is important to be who you really are. Be careful where you use this trial and error. Don't embarass yourself in public.

What is the difference in these options? As life is full of surprises to be real and oneself it is necessary to be spontaneous and responsible. Not the same word root. Trial and error are the only ways to be real.

Why would this be a choice? Do you want a hamburger or a bun? Why not have both?!
It is vitally important to be real and be yourself and to improve yourself by learning from your mistakes, learning from others' mistakes, learning from everything you experience, learning from what you read.
It is part of human nature to learn and change.

This question is problematically worded. There is no constant "self" - we always change (whether or not it is an improvement is another matter). But yes you should always Be "yourself" AND Improve "yourself."

I am ME! All these people that are on weight loss trips and surgery for being fat and blocking weight/food - BE REAL. To thy own self be true. Life is too short to be anything else but who I am! Now there are things that I have changed about myself my temper, my silliness, my hair color...but no I would never sell myself out and be anything other than who I am.
