No. The all-star game is considered an exhibition game. It's kind of like hitting a home run during spring training.

Hey RedSox143, Bonds has already made it to the all-star game, and if he does hit one out, no it does not count towards his career home run total. Others have it right when they say that the All-Star game is an exhibition game, not an actual game. If all-star games counted, here are some records that would be changed from the past:

Joe DiMaggio's streak: 57 consecutive games w/ a hit
Eric Gagne's streak: 62 games w/o a blown save in save situations
Ted Williams: would have hit .396 in 1941, not .400

Something to think about

No.....thankfully!!
The all-star game is just like spring training. Nothing counts except the winner. Years ago it was just to have a break in between since there were so many games played. It was actually a joy to watch to see the ultimate "dream teams" that we (the fans that is) made. As I said, they now count only to see who has home-field advantage @ the World Series. It no longer deals with better records during the playoffs. It is now soley based and decided @ the All-Star game. It is a wonderful game to see if you are a true baseball nut like yours truly!!!!!!!!
Go National League.....Utley, Hamels and Rowand #1!!!!!!!!!!!!

It counts in the All-Star Game, yes.

Does it count toward his personal career total? No. The ASG is an exhibition game and no stats are counted for championship season play.

no it doesnt

all-star games stats are like playoff stats: a category all their own

they dont count towards any season or career stats because it is unfair to other players who do not have opportunities to play in those extra games

p.s. i hope bonds tears his ACL during the all-star game

Yes, it would. At least in the All Star Game. But not towards breaking Aaron's HR record.

It counts as a career all-star game homerun but not added to his Aaron chase. Post season games also do not count.
