In the US a deed can put her in title if she so desires.

That depends upon what you are trying to do.

If you are giving her the lot and want title in her name, you just need to deed it to her. It's a fairly simple process. You could do a quitclaim deed to her yourself, but I'd recommend that you go through a title company or real estate attorney and have a Grant Deed or Warranty Deed drawn up in her name and have it properly recorded.

If you just want her to handle the paperwork for you on closing the deal but keep title in your own name you need to have a Special Power of Attorney drawn up for that specific purpose. Most attorneys can handle that, probably for less than $100 or so.

No letter, just go down to the title company. It is pretty simple.

So do it and find someone who is an authority on the lettering.
