Just another routine day at work.. trying to wait for my clients, trying to take credit for stuff, blame others for things that didn't work..lol...the usual. And just when I thought that life couldn't get any "better", I get this mail... u know the kind of forward that is 'supposed' to lift ur spirits up, which somewhere down the line, makes u wish that u would get lifted up, so that u could escape reading them. But at the very end of this mail, it said "Good life starts only when you stop wanting a better one"

So I'm thinking, 'yeah right, like the person who wrote it or forwarded it, believed it to be the absolute truth'. But when I read it again, (and again), somehow it seemed to make sense. So here I am, asking you...is your life as good as it gets? Is it all that you ever wanted it to be, or is it just something that u are still waiting for, to happen to you? We all get this sense of feeling that there could be something out there that is much better than what we got right now. But the question here also is, whether we want it or not. We 'think' it is better, but who knows, it could be worse. Just thinking it better will not make it so, right? Because we don't have a guarantee for it.

We all have a good life, we all got things that we need, that we 'want'... will want...we just don't realise it. Cause we won't take the pains to make ourselves realise it now, isn't it? How many times have we wished that we would have a better job, a better house, better food, friends, even husband and kids? Why is that? What is going to be so better or different that u are willing to sacrifice what you have, and run after something that you know, will take you down a road you have never been on before. I know.. people might say, that if u don't take risks, you will never know what lies in store for u. But that is for u to decide, not them. They are not the ones who will do the running for u now, will they?

WOW - the time, thought , and effort put into this question deserves a round of applause.

Hmmm ... this is a good one. It could go both ways. A person could be perfectly content with what they have, yet others might feel that they are settling for less than what they are capable of. On the other hand, a person that tries and tries to achieve more than they have will never be happy. So I guess it depends on your priorities.

I think I fall somewhere in between. I know I could have a better job and make more money, but do I really want to work day and night to make money that i wouldn't be able to enjoy because I'm working so much, stressed, and tired? I don't know what the answer is for most people. Around here, people work because you're measured on what kind of car you have, how big your house is, and how many elaborate vacations you can go on throughout the year - all a bunch of BS to me!

I can honestly say, I do wish I had that special someone in my life, but I do trust that that person will come along and things will work themselves out. Even my missed opportunity last weekend happened for a reason!

Life is not about what people think or what people say. It's about what you think of your life. Life is full of ups and downs and it's all up to us to follow up. In the world today, people talks more than actions and that's when you will know who your close friends really are.

When we were young, we always had our aims of what we wanna be in the near future, but in the end, some of our ambitions will come to naught and we have to start all over again. This is the challenge of life we have to face to overcome our fears.

As the saying goes "Failure Is The Mother Of Success" and "In Order Not To Make A Mistake, Just Do Nothing And In Today's World, It's the Ultimate Mistake". In other words, do not add stress to our work. Do our best, learn from our mistakes and be happy with what we usually called as Life.

Cheers :)

A simple answer: happiness is fleeting. You achieve something like a car, and the satisfaction of ownership subsides after a while. The idea of owning a bigger, better car makes one feel euphoric again.

I was at a party over the weekend with a woman who is going to sell her mansion and move to Florida so she can buy an even bigger mansion. During my stay on her property I was in awe and felt an extreme sense of contentment ( with the fish ponds and swimming pools, ect). She on the other hand was bored with her existence and needed change. While I admired her ambition to want to experience other areas, I couldn't help but feel pity that she couldn't feel contentment in what she had. It was as if her current state of existence was irrelevant.

I approach the issue from the other end of the equation.

If you wanted to feel dissatisfied with life, or discontented with life, what would you think about and what would you believe?

Dissatisfaction and discontentment is something that we have control over. Wanting anything is to make the self feel dissatisfied with what exists.

The email that you received was partially correct.

I think that because control of life is soo out of our hands we have to sometimes just be grateful for what we have because honestly there is worse out there. I think we forget about appreciating the little things. I think when you appreciate the little things..everything seems better.

Life starts when you stop trying to start it, and start living it. Just let it flow, and just let things happen. And enjoy. = )
