My husband's friend spent the day with another woman and he wants my husband to pick him up and drive him home bc this friend doesn't want his wife to find out. The friend has not admitted to cheating but if he has to lie to his wife what else would you call it? This is not the first time the friend had lied and used my husband/us as an excuse and I/we don't like it. Any suggestions? My husband has been friends with this guy for almost twenty years and doesn't want to end the friendship, nor do I want him to. This guy hasn't done things like this before, only been married a few years.

Yes he is, and your husband should tell him that he won't help him anymore. No friendship is worth destroying another persons life. Think about his wife...

You really don't know what is happening in your husband's friend's marriage. Your husband has trusted this man for almost twenty years and may feel that if his friend is going to do this he may just might be justified.

In all truth this other woman might even be the wife of the man his wife is having an affair with. All you can do is guess.

Your husband shouldn't do this because it's like saying, I'm OK with a guy who lies to his wife. Birds of a feather flock together. What makes you think that his buddy hasn't picked up your husband from the house of another woman.

if your husband has been good friends with this guy for over 20 years then he should be able to tell him that he doesnt want to be put in the middle and that he doesnt want to get involved at all and that his friend should find other ways to see the other woman than to use you both. As a matter of fact the guy should be honest with his wife and tell her what he had done and what the hek is he married for anyways if he is gonna mess around. He hasnt been married that long and it sounds like he shouldnt of gotten married. What if the friend was doing that for your husband and you were the innocent unknowing wife? Think of it that way or you could explain it that way to your hubby also.

Well, he doesn't necessarily have to end the friendship by telling him that he can't cover for him. If the friend doesn't accept that he can't cover for him no more, then he was never your husband's friend in the first place.

If your husband's friend was a true friend. He wouldn't ask your husband to cover for him cheating. If i was in that situation i would tell my friend that if he does stop using me to cover for him. I will end the friendship. If he didn't stop i would end it.

The friend is not using your husband your husband is agreeing to help the friend out. Your husband is not a child and cannot be "used" or forced to do something. Your husband is an adult and needs to act like one.

That's what buddies do for each other. Hell my buddy lets me borrow his place to get me a little on the side. Just tell your husband to stop telling you about it and then you wont even care.

Yes, he is using the friendship to hide his infidelity, and that's just plain wrong. I'd tell him no way, find your own way home.
