Yes it sucks that we have to put up with commercials at a movie but someone's making money off of it. Whether it be the theater, the filmmaker or both...and there's a fat chance in getting them to stop it if someone's making money.
Booing won't do any good. Throwing eggs at the screen will only get you kicked out & maybe arrested. Not to mention makes it hard to watch the movie when it actually does start. Theaters won't care if you complain, just as long as you keep coming. Boycotting the theaters would do the trick, but there will never be enough people who do it to make a difference.
Society takes it up the rear these days. Not enough people give a damn to take a stand and fight for a cause. Except lunatics like PETA & the ACLU.

...this is the advertiser's and the theater chain owner's idea of compromise; originally, at the advertised feature film start time, they were running their commercials and promos, then the trailers, and finally, the feature film. If the movie was advertised to start at, say 3:00 PM, it REALLY wouldn't start until 15 to 18 minutes later.
Now, the commercials and promos are now being played BEFORE the listed starting time of the movie, at which time, the trailers and the feature film kick in.
Personally, I could do without the commercials and promos, but at least there's something to look at, besides a blank screen, should I arrive at the theatre early. Unless, on the slim chance they happen to show something that peaks my interest, I otherwise pretty much tune out, until the movie starts.
...overall, I'm less than somewhat satisfied with this compromise, but pretty much shake it off with a mere shoulder shrudge; now, if we can do something about the damn ludicrous prices at the concession stand.....

I agree. And I do not even go unless its a really "need to be seen on huge screen" movie. Not just the 10.00 admission but the 3.00 drink and the 6.00 popcorn so a date is like 38.00 or more ...I go have a nice dinner at Friday's and get a DVD and we do not have to put up with some jerk talking through the whole thing not to mention the curling and cuddling

I hate it as much as anyone but there's little or nothing we can do. I would suggest writing the company's HQ but would they ever listen. It might at least make you feel better because you've done something. Very frustrating. What my wife and I do is just carry on a conversation, and not try and be quiet about it, completely ignoring the dopey commercials.

Agree. I think it's horrible I have to watch commercials before I watch a movie I paid for.
But the car commercials have got to be better then the Bod Body Spray commericials they use to play.

I agree completely if I'm paying $10 to see a movie i do not want to watch commercials. Show me the previews and then the feature. That's all I want.

should not - prices of tickets are so high already. and the snack bar - don't EVEN get me started on that. having to watch commercials on top of it is insulting. i don't go anymore, i wait for the dvd.
