Okay, I admit I am tired of the 'cute animated animal' movies being churned out lately...but still...anyone else feel a..um..tad uncomfortable about a movie featuring a rat cooking and handling your food?

Yes this is a 'tongue in cheek' question, but honestly...a rat??? In my kitchen...cooking and touching my food...!?!?!?!

sheesh folks....some people need to chill maybe...see "yes this is a tongue in cheek question" That means it's a joking, poke fun, have a laugh...not to be taken literally question. I know it's a cartoon..and I love the Muppets (nice reminder BTW). Just have some fun with this as with the movie....sheesh..

Dude! I feel the same way! I know it's animated, but the whole premise of it is totally creepy.
The fact that he talks is fine with me....(lol)...but he COOKS? OMG. I saw a 9 minute trailer on TiVo and it made my stomach churn a bit. I could just see myself at the theatre enjoying my popcorn and then suddenly thinking, "I wonder if a rat squirted the butter on this." Haha.
I think I'll be skipping this one.
:-D

I don't mind it that much - I mean it isn't the first time this happened in a major motion picture.

Flashback to the 80's -

The Muppet's Take Manhattan, I believe there were several rats working in the kitchen of the diner where Kermit when for lunch.

The protein content is quite high at 23%. Generally Rat only require about 15% or less of protein to maintain they weight and health. anywhere from 15% - 25% protein is normally recommended for nursing, pregnant mums or young Rats. It seems to have a variety of Rat needs included which is a bonus and better than junk food, please supplement the diet with fresh fruits and vegetable daily.

Many years ago one of my first summer jobs was delivering bread for a large bread company. I walked into the kitchen of a very expensive and nice restaurant to deliver the bread order. I didn't dare lift my feet the floor was so greasy and the clothes the cooks wore were just as bad. As I finished putting the bread in the cooler I turned just in time to see a rat run across the sandwich a girl was making. She screamed, hit toward the rat with her knife then put a slice of bread on top, sliced it and set it up to be served.
Did you see the news coverage of the KFC in NYC that had rats running all over??

Considering the films I've had to watch at food service inservice meetings, I too think YUCK, do you know rats and mice have no bladder? The fluid waste just dribbles out constantly. And Yes I know this is just a cartoon too.

When most ppl think of rats, they think of filthy, disease-carrying thieves that bite. But have you ever had a domestic one? The two are as different as dogs are from wolves. They're the sweetest little things you can imagine and they have great personalities. Okay, ratalities. They're very friendly and they clean themselves quite frequently. So my level of comfort would depend on the rat itself.

I agree with you. I thought it was weird and a bit much, even if it is a cartoon. I mean the evil resturant critic accepted that a rat was cooking his food? Yeah right.

I sure don't want to eat at a restaurant, where a rat is a chef or if there's mice and rats roaming around there.

It's not meant to be taken seriously. Most polls show that the cutest movies have talking animals and babies. This one just happens to be about a talking, cooking mouse.
