If the two of you are in a domestic partnership, you should be able to ask him how he prefers to be addressed. Why does it bother you if you are both husbands? Husband and wife are traditional names for traditional marriages - be creative!

Personally I called my gf husband, of she did something funnily masculine, like take all my bags ect.. but for a joke, and not in front of anyone.

Out of respect i think I would stick to 'husband' as calling a man a wife, denotes some kind of need to have a female and male role that heterosexual culture imposes on us.

Well, I call my girlfriend my wife but eh, that might be different.

On the other hand, I'd be really annoyed if she called me husband!

So ... maybe?

you should ask him!

he's the only one who will know!

I would be really annoyed if that happened to me. I would like to call my husband my husband, and I be his husband. I don't think it should bother you but if it does, you could probably find a different pet name. Also, I think since he is the one being given the title, you should confront him about it.

Depends on him and his views. I've told my boyfriend that I am not a girl so I won't be referred to as the girlfriend or wife. He has basically said the same thing to me. I don't even like when friends or whomever call me girl... I'm not a girl and there is nothing wrong with girls, I'm just not one of them. :)

Yeah, If he doesn't mind then go right ahead more power to you. Though I know that I would be really kinda pissed, because I am not in a relationship with a man to be referred to as a woman.

You can call him Sparky for all I care. Just use labels that you two like. If someone else has any respect for you, they'll use those preferred words.

you should talk to him and see what he thinks of you calling him that. However in my case my gf is my wife as i am hers. Our gay friend calls his bf this wife, bit**, woman, who*e you name it. But mostly his wife, i think he is the "man" in the relationship. But its all up to the two of you. YOU both have to live with it. I think you should talk to him.

I know that if I was your partner, you could call me your husband or call me by my name. He is not your wife. Wife denoting a female.
