Go for a walk, jog, trip of the stairs or other physical activities. Might be hard to start, but it'll get you in gear.

Take a break from whatever you're doing - forget it completely.

Listen to music, read a book, call up a friend. Just make sure you don't do these for too long.

Practice an instrument?

Make a to-do list for the next day/week/etc. Think of fun things you'd like to do with friends and maybe plan a trip to the beach/hiking/etc.

Pet an animal! This always relieves stress, both for you and the animal. Really, it's been shown that heart rates drop for both parties involved.

Sit outside and stare at the clouds or the trees. Bask in the beauty and wonder of nature.

Good luck!

All work and no play... dull!
Any student should not do more than about 8 hours a day lectures + study, 5 days a week. That way, it's equivalent to a full time job. That means there's still plenty of time left over for fun. Fun is an essential part of life.

Also there's no point at all in trying to study past your concentration span - it's a waste of time and doesn't do any good.

Try to schedule at least one or two specific activities every day. If you have nothing on your schedule except "study", it is depressing.

For example, tell yourself you will go exercise at 9:00, then meet a friend for lunch at 12:30. You will have blocks of time that you know you have to study, so you will get it done quickly knowing there is an ending point.

Also, don't forget to get together with other people on a regular basis. It helps keep your mood up, especially if they are students too -- meet at a coffee shop to discuss the homework!

Hope this helps. I've been there too.

make ur study room as quiet as possible and remove all distractions...such as pictures that u'll end up staring at.

set out your study materials in front of you and try to cover a realistic amount of work in a specific time.

do not study for more than an hour all together.

take 10 minute breaks in between.
set a goal to cover a specific chapter
sit down in a comfortable chair at a desk..do not lie in a bed
concentrate and focus on the task in front of u and nothing else until u are finished

do stuff that interests you. When you have to do stuff that doesn't, pick yourself a reward for doing it - anything from a cup of coffee to a day off, depending on the magnitude of the task, and stick to the rule - no job done, no reward. You can train yourself to this and it works. If its a long horrible job then break down into sections like, "when I've written a page I will have a chocolate bar" " when I've written a second page I will have a cup of coffee which I desperately need because my teeth are coated in chocolate..."

Grab a Twix!

Or you could go on and try to motivate yourself. Example: for every page I study, that's one more twix. The twix will then give you energy to continue. Savvy?

Or try making it interesting for yourself. Try putting yourself in the situation that you are studying. This works good in reading also. You could also try locking youself up, and working on self discipline. "If I don't do this, then I won't get this". If I study, then I will allow myself to go and spend a bit more money next time I go out to dinner. Try removing all distractions, like TV, Radio, etc.

Electric impulses from by brain tell my muscles to contract and by selecting which muscles to do what I am able to get up and walk out the door and go to work and make money so I can come back home and get in bed and then the electric impulses will tell my muscles to stop moving and get some sleep.

Get up. Walk away. Do something else for 10 minutes, then come back to what you were originally doing. Your mind will be refreshed.
