Buy an external Hard Drive case, they usually come with all the necessary cables, and are available all over eBay, just search for external hard drive case or something like that.

Just get a long SATA (or IDE) cable and run it outside the computer case through one of the expansion slots on the back; then attach the HD to it. Find a way to keep the HD protected outside the computer case.

you would need an external hard drive caddy / enclosure to mount the drive into.
