Depends on your definition of wrong.
If you set your sights on perfection then you are only leaving yourself open for failure. The world is an imperfect place and naturally would lead to imperfect ends. No one being is perfect (outside of God if you beleive in a greater being -- check out Ontological proofs.) thus the outcome of said being cannot be perfect. If you can accept that nothing can be 100% perfect then it is not wrong to try for it. If you can't accept that then you are only damaging yourself and your psyche.
Basically: try for the moon, but reach for the stars but accept that you can only realistically touch the sky.

It would be better to set your goals at an attainable level with the understanding that in reaching each one you will be able to come a bit closer to the overall goal of perfection.
However, looking at perfection in the light of being self-actualized, it is best to understand that it takes lifetimes for the truly self-actualized to reach a perfect state.

There is nothing wrong with this goal.
However, having this goal means that you will rarely be happy. Perfectionists often impose their standards on others and other rarely measure up. Even worse, the perfectionist often doesn't live up to even their own expectations. It is often difficult for the perfectionist to feel good about themselves as they will always find one flaw after the next with the self.
Perfectionism also requires a belief that one "right" where there is often a great amount grey area between "right" and "wrong".

If I am the one who defines the state of perfection, then I see nothing wrong with establishing that goal.

No, but it can be unhealthy if you don't have the right attitude. You will never achieve perfection. If you can handle that fact, then it is a fine. The higher you aim, the higher you'll hit. But the fall is mighty dangerous if you are not prepared to possibly fail.

It's perfectly fine as long as you don't expect to reach them perfectly--no one and nothing can be perfect, and it can be devastating the first few times you find that out.
That being said, if I didn't strive for perfection I'd never come close, or succeed.

The new testament states..."Be perfect as Christ was perfect", noting that we all fall short of the glory of God, however, that we should at least try...or Christians are just like everyone else. Works without faith means nothing, however.

No. Not if you're content to always fall short or to put it another way, you accept failure as a norm. 'Tis easier on the soul to do all that you can and let the rest go.

No, its probably the best way to go...but only if you can deal with falling short quite often. Otherwise you will disappoint yourself too often and lose you inner drive.
