Looking to use an ethanol burner in my fireplace which puts out 13000 btu's, hoping to place on the burner decorative colored glassel products which are only safe to 1200 farenheit. Is the glass safe to use on the ethanol burner?

BTU's is a measure of heat, not temperature.

The amount of temperature increased depends on how much substance is being heated. If only a small amount of substance, the temperaure will go way up and melt the glass. If there is a great deal of substance available, the temperature increase will be lower.

as the question is asked the answer is no. But it is not a fair question because the amount of btu's does not indicate the final possible temperature. Therefore under the proper circumstances the glass would melt.
