Pelosi lays blame for missed goals on Senate
(06-30) 04:00 PDT Washington -- The problem for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn't just President Bush. It's the Senate.

Pelosi sounded more apologetic than celebratory Friday when she announced with her Senate counterpart, Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democrats' list of accomplishments six months after they seized control of Capitol Hill and promised "a new direction" in Washington.

"I'm not happy with Congress, either," Pelosi, of San Francisco, conceded.

Pelosi needs to look in the mirror. She flaunted her position as the fearless leader of the Dems in the House, but where on earth is she leading them??

I don’t know of any Republicans shirking any responsibility to waterboardoing. In fact I know of many who have taken ownership of it. Try and follow along. When something is viewed as being wrong on nothing is done about it or you remain silent until it suits your political carrier, that’s the true wrong; every bit as much so as the act in question. This is Pelosi. The facts are public to anyone who cares to keep an objective view on them. The C.I.A. has more to lose than gain by misleading any administration. Pelosi was briefed, she failed to act. Or is this a case of a woman only hearing what she wants to hear. Is there some mechanism in a woman’s mind that takes plain speech and turns it into something completely different by the time it registers in her brain? “Regardless of if she knew about it or not, she is not the one who OK'd it or who made it part of general policy“. Really? But she didn’t do anything about it either. She could have or in the very least made an effort to. Now, when it’s clearly shown she not only knew about it, she remained silent; then she waffles on it.

Dems rely on the stupidity of their base to not be aware of their very history. So even when something is cut and dry, they will say something that is completely false and the kids will follow. Ex. people hate congress because of the Republicans. And there will be plenty of folks that will automatically believe and not even know who's in the majority.Amazing how emotion leads some right past reality..

That is rather pathetic. Pelosi is Speaker of the House--she is in charge of the House. She cannot be unhappy with Congressional performance when she is at the helm--she is, in effect, unhappy with *her own leadership*. Reality check!

Unfortunately, Democrats didn't win enough of a majority to be more than a nuisance; they needed more seats to really control Congress. I'm afraid they'll have to wait until 2008 and try to win more seats.

What happened to the "Now we're in charge" Pelosi? I guess the Dem thing to do is blame Republicans (who are the minority ) for the De ms 6mos of Non -accomplishments but the moment there is one "success" in the Congress, it will be all thanks to the Democrats.

The really funny thing is that now that the libs have control over the house, their excuse now for not getting anything real done is "it's a slim majority".
When the Republicans had control, their majority wasn't much stronger than the Dems is now, but then it was the Republicans fault on everything because they had the majority according to the libs.
That excuse is perfectly okay for Liberals, but not for Conservatives.

Kind of ironic huh? And Libs say they aren't hypocritical?
HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Maybe if they'd have spent time focusing on realistic, achievable things - they wouldn't be sulking right now. That's what happens when you waste everyone's time working on bills that do nothing more than make a point, then still trying to pass them when you can clearly see the writing on the wall.
Maybe we should start withholding paychecks from any moron who wastes our tax dollars on such crusades. Maybe we'd actually be able to manage the country effectively then. Is it really THAT difficult? Note - when you have to start BRIBING people to vote for your bill, it's a sign that you should probably just find something else to focus your time ans attention on.

Poor babies. Liberals always point the finger at someone other than themselves. It's standard fare.

This party would be wise to change their leadership. Reid and Pelosi are a joke. If the Democrats put in a couple of adult leaders, there are enough RINO's for them to get their legislation passed.

What's happened to Trent Lott?

Nancy Pelosi is no leader for the American people! Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Dick Durbin, and other radicals on the left receive their money from the Communist Party to bring down the U.S.A..These people are traitor to this Country and don't even recognize them as Americans, only traitors.

Here's the thing... Her and Harry Reid can lead Congress, but they can't put in every vote. If they aren't voting together for the good of America, then Congress is at fault.
