I have bats that come into my house obviously at night time, usually one a night and I think I know where they are coming from. What is the cheapest way to solve a bat problem?

this is a 2 story house, you cant fill the cracks in because they are in the walls. There are probably 100-150 bats total

There may not be an easy solution for this problem if your house has all sorts of ways bats can gain entry. I had a similar problem with house mice, and I had to keep tearing off siding and interior walls until i found all of the places they were getting in. This eventually led to residing the entire home.

First off, you have to get the bats out of the house, and then close off the points of entrance. If you seal the house with the bats in the walls, you will end up with dead, rotting bats that stink up the house for a few months.

The best thing to do to get the bats out of the house is to place something noxious in the places where they roost. Two types of products are available for this purpose: high intensity ultrasound and odor-causing materials. Mothballs have been reported to work well. The fumes from spraying distilled vinegar into their roosting places might also work. You can also just wait until evening when the bats emerge, and cover the holes when the bats are out flying around.

After you get the bats out, you can close off the entry points by spraying an expanding foam sealer into the holes or cracks, or nail wire mesh over the holes

Find where they're getting in and seal it. To get them out of the house, open a window and remove the screen, then get out yourself. This has happened twice to me. The poor bat was flying around and arond looking for an exit. The wing flapping sound woke me up at dawn.

Check your house for little holes or cracks and fill them in.
