Of course they will. Minnesota has a knack for doing all the right things, especially in the 2nd half.
You can never discount The Twins.
Last year was a great example.
They only spent one day in 1st place; and it was the only day it really counted (the last day of the season).
I have a lot of respect for The Twins organization, along with The Indians and Royals....it's the whiney sux I simply abhor and loathe. (and the yankees too).

The Twins are a very good team. I just don't think they will be able to match the Tigers and Indians bats when it comes down to it. Outside of Santana and Silva(no run support) their rotation isn't good either. Baker imprssed me last night but he is young and young players tend to be more inconsistent.
The only way I can see the Twins winning it is if their bullpen can save them. Their bullpen is their strength. It has been the Tigers weakness and the Indians concern this year. The Twins need to take advatage of it now, while the Tigers are without Zumaya and the Indians without Fultz.
All in all the Twins will finish no more then 10 games back but they probably won't be able to overcome the Indians or Tigers. The Tigers and Indians bats are to strong, and their starting pitching is too good for them.

Without Liriano in the rotation, I don't think the Twins will get much closer than they are now. Boof Bonser is a decent third starter, and Silva hasn't been too bad this season, but I don't think their 2-through-5 guys - Bonser, Silva, Slowey and Baker - are good enough to compete with the Tigers and Indians. Granted, Minnesota does have a lower team ERA thanks to an awesome bullpen, but I don't think that will be enough to overcome the others.
The Twins' offense is surprisingly productive given their lack of power, but the Tribe and Tigers are the top-scoring teams in the American League. I'm guessing that the Twins might have around in the AL Central race, but that they'll never get close enough to be a serious threat. Without Liriano, they just don't have the horses.

before the weekend series wit the tigers i taught they had no chance but after it winning 2 out of 3 and barely losing that third game shows that they can hang wit the tigers and indians. the twins can gain more ground when the tigers and indians beat up on each other.
i think it will be helpful if they can add another good bat to the lineup

I think it's going to be close no matter what happens. I dont' think the Twins can do it themselves though. For them to win the division title Cleveland and Detroit will need to falter. But if they do (like they did last year) the Twins should be right there to take advantage of it.
Considering the pitching issues starting the season who would have thought we would be this close nearing the All-Star break. Honestly, I didn't. I just wanted to have a respectable season.
GO TWINS!!!

It would take multiple losing streaks by the Indians and Tigers like they did last year. Other than that Minnesota will keep it interesting but not close.

Who knows what is going to happen. As long as injuries dont take there toll they have a good chance of getting hot again and going on a nice run. The key is Johan Santana. If he gets hurt (knock on wood) their pretty much done. They have some great bats in the lineup but I think they need to pick up another guy for the rotation.

The way the division is going it is pretty much anyones guess. The only teams that don't have a chance are White Soxs and Royals. But i guess you already knew that.
It should be a interesting second half of baseball.

Not this season. Cleveland and Detroit are playing to well to allow the Twins to catch up. I can't see either of them going through any substantial losing streaks.

The have a very good team in a great division. I just don't see them finishing ahead of Detroit or Cleveland. Fun team to watch with Santana, Mauer and the others.
