Depends on what your going to do with it. I would get the PC because you would get better hardware specs for the price but that's just me.

Which brand of convertible laptop are you talking about?
But then anyways the choice is essentially between a Mac and a PC. I was a PC user for the last 11 years, and am now using a MacBook Pro.

My exerience is that its an extermely stable machine, the OS rocks, looks great, does everything a PC does & more, (without all that hemming & hawing). I used to be ona Sony Vaio before this and compared to a measly 40 min of battery time, i get a whole 3 hr batt from the mac book. The attention to detail is fantastic and believe me, its not idle advertising smart talk when they say, " Once you use a Mac, you never want to go back"

Though the Macbook Pro is steep, i find it worth every small penny.

PC magazine claims in one rating the IBM/Lenovo laptop is near 200 (yes, 200) times as "durable" as any other laptop. I can't claim how accurate their review is, of course, but I've had my old A31 IBM laptop for several years now. It is a rather primitve lil' booger, with (still) USB1 ports, 512 memory (it could in no way handle Vista!). Still, it has survived several drops on the floor, and is a true work horse. My HP, on the other hand, overheated and had to be rebuilt from the ground up in its first year. (I have no experience with Macs...)
